We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face… we must do that which we think we cannot. - Eleanor Roosevelt
How much strength does it take to get up when you’ve exerted so much of yourself to remain standing, to have something just come and snatch everything from under you?
Kobe’s Facebook rant :
" There are far greater issues/challenges in the world then a torn achilles. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever. "
"If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear". Ive always loved that quote. Thats "mamba mentality" we don’t quit, we don’t cower, we don’t run. We endure and conquer.

The day Kobe Bryant returns from the career altering injury, a torn left Achilles. All my life I’ve been a Celtic fan, and that comes with hatred for Kobe and his Lakers. As a young fan I could see how I could hate him and not understand who he was and what he believes in. But as I’ve grown more aware of myself and the game, I can’t help but love and respect him (Magic did love Larry, despite the rivalry). I mean, his ethic and drive is unearthly and I try to apply that to myself. That competitive spirit he has, I have it to. “Rip your throat out” . But what I’ve learned is that what he believes in is what I know as Celtic Pride. The hard work it takes to succeed, doing the things no one wants to, the commitment to yourself and the team, sacrifices, undying will, doing what you gotta do. He’s been deemed as selfish, overly controlling, uncoachable, but no one ever says he is misunderstood. Just like people to not point of what’s true. What I see is a man obsessed with winning, and that’s okay. A man who would fight lions , tigers, and bears, climb mountains with his bare hands to go were he’s going.
A true warrior. Who doesn’t love that kind of fight in a person?
You can’t kill those. They’d always be remembered.
If Kobe stopped playing and retired, we wouldn’t have judged him. He made his mark and is basically in the Hall of Fame.
But why end because something forced you to? Wouldn’t it be better taking that force on and kill it? How dare you challenge this soldier?
Even if he doesn’t return playing like a superstar, he came back, and that’s all that matters, further saying that no one can defeat him but himself. And that’s a true world class warrior.
Welcome back Kobe, it’s been days to long, the NBA hasn’t and wouldn’t be the same without you.
